Evacuation Drill - April 18th

The Academy is currently participating in a scheduled Evacuation Drill. All Academy staff members and cadets are being escorted to Wilmington University located at 320 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle DE. The Academy’s Fire Alarm/Other Evacuation Policy (Policy #: 160803) details the procedures that take place when staff and students are evacuated from the Academy buildings. In some rare instances it may be necessary for staff members and students to vacate the Academy property. In those situations, the Academy has a Memorandum of Understanding with Wilmington University that allows our staff and students to safely evacuate to their property and re-assemble. THERE IS NO EMERGENCY and THIS IS ONLY A DRILL. Today’s scheduled drill allows our staff and students to become familiar with our policy and to practice and demonstrate all of the necessary components of an actual evacuation. In the event of a real emergency, you would be notified of the incident through REMIND, FACEBOOK, the Academy

Website as well as local media outlets. Again there is no emergency and this is only a drill. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Director of Public Safety, David Wainwright at (302)322-6050.
